Identity & Sleeve Design

( about the project — )
ATLANTIS AUDIO RECORDS – label Identity Design & Sleeve Design (various). The brief was to retool the existing logo which consisted of a city scape below three waves and create artwork for its forthcoming releases.
We reduced the over complicated cityscape to a to a 3 x pyramid configuration which forms an “AA” monogram. The primary function of the waveform elements was to represent water & sound waves (a city under the sea) but are also evocative of Sheffield’s famous 7 Hills, framed by a setting sun. The wave & celestial body elements combined paint an abstract portrait of the label owner & artist as a “masked figure” as depicted on the “Going Down Slow” LP cover Illustration, a running theme throughout many of his previous releases ( further detail & full case study coming soon ).
