ATLANTIS AUDIO RECORDS – label Identity Design & Sleeve Design (various). The brief was to retool the existing logo which consisted of a city scape below three waves and create artwork for its forthcoming releases.
We removed cluttered cityscape and put simple triangles in it’s place. These simple, pyramid esque shapes are intended to be evocative of a mythical Atlantean city and also form the “AA” (Atlantis Audio) monogram.
The primary function of the waveform elements was to represent water & sound waves (a city under the sea) but are also evocative of Sheffield’s famous 7 Hills, framed by a setting sun. The wave & celestial body elements combined paint an abstract portrait of the label owner & artist as a “masked figure” as depicted on the “Going Down Slow” LP cover Illustration, a running theme throughout many of his previous releases.
Sadly we lost our good friend, David J Boswell in August 2026 so there will be no further releases on Atlantic Audio… but you can check out his brilliant last album “Going Down Slow” (and more of his amazing work)
